Immersive Learning in Action: Sydul Arefin’s Live-In-Field Experience with TMSS in Natore, Bangladesh

As part of my Bachelor’s studies at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), I embarked on an enriching journey with the Live-In-Field Experience (LFE 201) program, facilitated by TMSS in Natore, Bangladesh. This program was an unparalleled opportunity to immerse myself in the rural heartlands of Bangladesh, gaining a profound understanding of the socio-economic realities of village life.

During my time in Natore, I lived and interacted closely with the local communities, witnessing firsthand the challenges of rural poverty and the resilience of people facing them. This experience was not just about observation; it involved engaging with ongoing development initiatives, providing me with a real-world context to the theoretical knowledge I had acquired in my studies.

Participating in the LFE program aligned with the broader objective of understanding global socio-economic landscapes, an aspect integral to the United States’ interest in promoting global awareness and sustainable development. This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of international development challenges and solutions, equipping me with insights and perspectives that are valuable in any global discourse, especially those pertaining to poverty alleviation and rural development. My active involvement in this program underscores my commitment to contributing to global development initiatives, a pursuit closely aligned with both my academic goals and broader international interests.
